Google Chrome To Get New Logo After Eight Years

Google Chrome is all set to revamp its logo for the first time in 8 years since 2014. After the release of Chrome 100 soon, the new logo of Google Chrome will be displayed to users across all devices.

As per The Verge, rather than adding shadows on the borders between each color, essentially “raising” them off the screen, the red, yellow, and green are now flat.

With these major changes to the logo, the blue circle in the center appears larger. Also, the colors in the new logo look more vibrant and eye appealing.

Google also continues to customize it with various variations designed to look more comfortable on Windows, macOS, and iOS.

Alvin Hu, a Google Chrome designer, tweeted to share a glimpse of the logo’s redesign. Hu also shared a look at the redesigned logo along with the previous logos.

Hu said the main Chrome logo wouldn’t look the same on all systems in a Twitter thread. The logo will be more colorful to complement the other system icons on ChromeOS, while the macOS logo will have a bit of a shadow. Meanwhile, the Windows 10 and 11 versions have more dramatic gradients to match the rest of the Windows icon styles.

They look 3D On macOS. With the logo’s redesign, colorful ribbons have been applied to them for Beta and Dev. The redesigned logo will be rolled out globally in the next few months, and it will be displayed while using Chrome Canary (the version for Chrome developers.

According to Hu, you’ll see the new icon now when using Chrome Canary (the version for Chrome developers), but it will roll out globally in the next few months.
