Instagram Comes With A New Update Of Hiding Like Counts

Instagram is constantly coming up with new features and updates to shape its platform into a comprehensive platform to help you stay ahead of the competition. To make this platform more convenient and user-friendly, Instagram has introduced a new update for its users to choose whether they want to display the like count on a post.

Instagram, the CEO of Adam Mosseri, commented: “A year ago, we began concealing like counts for a small gathering of individuals to check whether it reduces some crucial factor when presenting on Instagram. Some tracked down this support needed to see like counts, specifically, to follow what’s mainstream. So we’re trying another choice that allows you to choose the experience that is best for you — regardless of whether that is deciding not to see like counts on any other individual’s posts, turning them off for your posts, or keeping the first experience.”

With this new feature, Instagram is formally trying to allow users to pick on the off chance that they need to conceal the like relies on a post. The last time the feature went live was because of a bug; however, this time, Instagram will give users two choices during the trial. Aside from concealing the like relies on their post, users can choose whether they need to see the Like depending on others’ post or not. Facebook will soon test this similar feature for its platform.

Instagram’s new feature will enable users to Hide like counts on other people’s posts, switch off like counts on your posts, and keep full like counts in the app.

Adding a new feature to Instagram is a step to address significant challenges about the social media addiction and the pressure that comes along while posting that a perfect picture with an engaging caption will grab more likes at a rapid pace. Today, users spend most of the time editing and reediting, changing tags and captions, and deleting posts to get more likes and post engagement. Being able to hide likes could help cut down the fear of missing out that users feel while posting on Instagram.

No wonder likes and favorites play a significant role in measuring a post’s success on social media sites. But, in the recent past, businesses have been implementing a way to take away the tendency to evaluate the performance based on likes.

The new Instagram feature empowers everyone with a choice of how they would personally use Instagram. Providing users with an option to choose how they want to leverage Instagram and likes will allow them to focus more on photos and videos posted in the feed, which will drive more engagement.

Taking everything into account, the web-based media giant disclosed that the new Instagram feature would be carried out in the coming weeks.
